Improving Safety with Software-Defined Vehicles

The next-generation of software-defined vehicles have the potential to revolutionize the transportation industry with game-changing improvements in comfort, efficiency, and—most importantly—safety, which must be considered throughout the data-driven ecosystem used for AI development. To achieve this, we tap into massive amounts of data to learn how to interpret the world around us and act appropriately. We'll outline NVIDIA's approach to developing safe autonomous vehicles, with an emphasis on where we extend safety engineering progress beyond the state of the art. A key area of innovation is the ability to measure safety performance at scale in the data center and use data feedback from vehicle fleets to rapidly release robust, safety-assured bug fixes or new features through over-the-air software updates.
