Real-Time, High-Fidelity Visual Experience of Large-Scale Scientific Simulations in Omniverse using NVIDIA IndeX on Multi-GPU Systems

Real-time and high-fidelity visual experience of large-scale data simulations is crucial to understand complex phenomena and to gain insights into data that results from scientific simulations, which ultimately leads to faster discoveries and accelerated decision-making. However, it's been challenging to do effectively due to the inability to visually assess, explore, and analyze the sheer amount of simulation data and the lack of interactive workflow solutions. Videos of the simulations are often produced in offline processes, usually running over many hours due to the data sizes that need to be loaded and visualized for each frame. However, playing back pre-rendered videos limits scientists' ability to understand their data; they are restricted to the predefined views and pre-selected visual appearances applied to the data. NVIDIA Omniverse using NVIDIA IndeX addresses this challenge and delivers a collaborative and scientific visualization platform.
