Legate: Scaling the Python Ecosystem

Legate endeavors to democratize computing by making it possible for all programmers to leverage the power of large clusters of CPUs and GPUs. Legate is built on top of the Legion programming model and runtime system for achieving high performance on heterogeneous clusters. Legion and Legate work together to allow the same code that runs on a desktop or a laptop to run at scale. Libraries have been created with Legate to provide distributed and accelerated drop-in replacements for popular Python libraries, like NumPy and Pandas. This unique approach brings first-class native parallelism to the Python community.
