Telcos are implementing SRv6 Mobile User Plane to automate end-to-end network slicing to deliver advanced applications and services that drive new revenue streams. Security is a crucial component of network sliced services, for example secure transportation of data for enterprise AI inference and training. However, the delivery of data is currently hamstrung by the throughput of the compute resources. DPUs promise to solve this limitation by offloading the highly intensive encrypted data path from the compute processors and accelerating it with dedicated hardware.
In this talk, SoftBank will discuss how NVIDIA's BlueField DPU and Arrcus's network operating system (NOS) solution meets their 5G network slicing infrastructure needs. The talk demonstrates how a DPU-enabled MEC server combined with a microservices-based NOS delivers zero-trust based end-to-end Network Slicing with simplicity, high performance and lower total cost of ownership.
