In this introductory level training lab, we will cover the fundamentals of working with Universal Scene Description (OpenUSD) - an open and extensible ecosystem for describing, composing, simulating, and collaborating within 3D worlds. Learn how you can use USD for non-destructive workflows, how layers can help with ease and speed of scene composition, and how to use USD for data separation and reuse to accelerate 3D workflows in industrial use cases. In this session, you will:
Learn the basics of Layering and Composition in USD. Understand model hierarchy for scene organization. Utilize Scenegraph Instancing for scene performance and organization.
Prerequisite(s):
Fundamental knowledge of 3D tools
