Confidential and Verifiable AI Computing: Ensure Trust, Privacy, and User Ownership in AI Systems

“Attention Is All You Need” coauthor and NEAR Protocol co-founder Illia Polosukhin presents research on confidential and verifiable AI computation. The talk details an approach to training, fine-tuning, and utilizing models and agents that allows for the decentralized, transparent properties of open source while creating a business model for developers and researchers. He presents a novel design for a confidential, decentralized AI cloud that combines NVIDIA Confidential Computing and payment channels with a mechanism called “Proof-of-Response” to deliver service-level agreement in a decentralized environment. This enables model and agent developers to monetize their work without needing to run their own services, provides end-to-end privacy for individuals and businesses, verifiability of what data was used, and proof that outputs came from an AI system.
